I just got out of the auto repair business and jumped into transmission repair. Here, we have two types of warranties. Rebuild/overhaul/major repairs are warrantied for 3yr/36k miles but minor repairs (driveline, wiring, etc.) only carries a 12mo/12k warranty. Long shot, but is there any way to have an option in the disclaimer portion where we can decided which warranty info to show?
for now I have simply created a 'canned job' with the 3/36 warranty description that prints out on the right column but it automatically turns a simple 1 page invoice into a 2-page invoice.
The corporate franchise DOS-based POS software does have a neat feature that allows you to click a button that says 'CHANGE WARRANTY' and then brings down a menu of options 12/12, 24/24, no warranty etc.
I'm not aware of anything in the software that'll allow you to change that on the fly. I have different warranties as well. What I do is put the most often used warranty in the disclaimer section with the 'unless otherwise noted' exception. Then I built canned Notes to add when we divert from the norm.
