After attending the workshop, i want to upgrade to SE. Carmasters in Mt Holly told my boss we have to give up out customers personal information to upgrde. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME CLEAR UP THE CONFUSION. The boss does not want to upgrade now.

I don't know where they got that from. I upgraded and never had to do that. Matter of fact the data conversion happens right at your own shop. You do it yourself. Mitchell has no interest in your customer list. Someone is very mistaken.

That is pure jabberwacky!

1. The 5.9 database is copied; the copy is then migrated from MS Access to SQL. When you open SE, the WIP, History, etc is all exactly the same as before with these exceptions.
2. Exceptions:
a) Users List profiles need to be recreated (thru Program Security window) [create these with all other SE workstations exited]
b) Check Reports/Printers to confirm the same EST/RO/INV etc. templates and printer devices are still selected
c) Check EOD Reports are still tagged for EOD
d) If using WorldPAC, re-install SpeedDIAL, test other catalogs
e) Walk through Setup - Shop Data, Tables, Descriptions to see if any changes
