SE Import Parts?

Discussion of migration from legacy 5.9 to SE 6.4

SE Import Parts?

Postby swoolley on Wed May 04, 2011 5:06 am

Before SE we were able to update our parts list using the import utility. I just received my updated pricing from my parts supplier and I have no way of importing my parts list. I called tech support and just like the (missing reports and customer recommendations), it is not an option with SE.

The only suggestion was to put in a request for the next update. We are a transmission shop and we have around 24k parts that have in our system. These parts are not inventory; they are on my parts list so we can itemize our invoices. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

I'm keeping all of the SE questions in area for now so I moved it here.

Let's break this post down rather than jumbling it together as a generalization of our not being responsive. As has been stated several times on the forum, the missing reports are being delivered to users as SE Update #2 disc in the next few weeks. This is not considered an option but a must have item.

Please explain what you mean by customer Recommendations.

We have recognized and discussed internally the need to have an Import Utility that works for SE (SQL database). We still need to assign a resource to complete the project; the good news is that since it is a free-standing development item, it can be made available to users independently of an SE release.

When I have a better idea of the actual delivery date for the SE import utility I'll post it here.

TIP: When you want to ask outside-the-box questions, rely on the forum and not tech support.
