There was a general release update (6.4e) shipped to all current SE 6.4 subscribers between April & June. This would update the version number to be 6.4.608.

We are working on SE 6.5 now and a new internet updates process once that update is released.

My Current Release Is 6.4.612. Is This Not Newer Than 6.4.608?

You have applied the patch from m1files.com; not everyone has done this. You have the most current version available.

I am trying to upgrade from 6.4.608 to 6.4.612. Is there a certain area I have to download the .exe file to before running?

Just close SE, run the EXE and it does all the work in a few seconds. Re-open SE and observe the version number change. Repeat on other workstations.

I just received the 6.4e cd..seidvds13-2 install disk. Did not receive when shipped out earlier. Does this include the updates for 6.4.612?

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your post.

The SE 6.4e will install 6.4.608 which is identical to 6.4.612 with the exception of YMM to ProDemand patch outlined below:

As for the YMM passing issue, there is a quick patch available here; select item #2 Manager SE quick update to 6.4.612 - 6.4.612.exe: http://www.m1faqs.com/fix/SE/index.htm
1. Close SE management program
2. Click on the #2 item to run the patch
3. Restart SE and now the YMM will match 100%
REPEAT these steps on each workstation, probably 10 seconds each time

I am updating from 6.4.544 to the supplied discs 6.4e. the disc menu does not auto run on my computer when selecting the host installation files it tells me I have to uninstall previous version of program prior to installing new? is this true? I thought this was simply an update?

Typically that is true.

I believe that when you update to SE 6.4.608 (via 6.4e disc) there is a huge difference to account for and this is why. All previous versions (6.4.544 and earlier) utilized SQL 2005 and newer versions are built on top of SQL 2008 R2.

So in this instance, it needs to uninstall and reinstall on the newer framework to go forward.

We are very close to releasing Manager SE 6.5 which will provide a VIN update. After this release is installed, the VIN data will be updated by the internet going forward and the current bottleneck is eliminated.
