Possible to merge customers?

I recently let go a service writer for being sloppy (amongst other things..

I have discovered the same customer in multiple times with different spelling of names, or just duplicate without address or something...

Can I merge the customers together? One issue is that I'll show the same vehicle in both customers, because he didn't put the VIN or plate in one customer..

Yes, to varying degrees depending on the products you have.

First, you need to decide which customer record you're going to keep. Then transfer ownership of the vehicle(s) not associated with that record to the one you're keeping. Now that will have duplicates but at least they're all under one name. Delete the duplicate customer.

If you have Bolt-On ProPack, it can get much cleaner. With Report Pro, you can transfer vehicle HISTORY. Here I wouldn't bother with ownership changes. Decide which customer/vehicle(s) your are keeping and transfer the duplicate vehicle(s) HISTORY to the one(s) you're keeping. Now you can delete the duplicate customer and vehicle.
