How To Manually Turn Part Line Blue?

How To Manually Turn Part Line Blue?

Postby Gary R » Wed Mar 08, 2017 7:34 am

So here is the work flow. I write an estimate in revisions using the integrated NAPA Pro Link catalog. I get authorization from the customer and using the parts ordering button, attempt to order the part. In this case, the part is not in stock at my local store and so the part line does not turn blue indicating that I need to do something about getting this part. I call the store and confirm that the part is at the distribution center and available today. Is there some way to turn the part line blue so that other employees in the front office know that the part is confirmed for delivery? Or is there some change to my work flow that would make this happen?

The program triggers the color change and there is no way to manually do so. We've talked about a manual way here on the forum in the past. Would come in handy for non-electronic vendors.

I think this is a feature that should be added

Agreed. The way I order worldpac parts is NOT through Mitchell, same with some dealers. Would be nice if there was an easy way to change them to blue. Perhaps a check box in the parts window for 'ordered'?

If parts are added to an RO then "pick list"/PO is used.. in this instance I don't understand why the line does not change. Even though the vendor is not electric the system has still cut a PO that is linked to the part # and to the RO...

I believe the trigger is done by the handshake between electronic vendor and Manager, not by simply creating a purchase order. I too would love to have this feature on manual PO's.
