Mobile Manager VIN Decode Error

Mobile Manager VIN Decode Error

Postby ricmorin » Fri Sep 15, 2017 1:57 pm

I've noticed about a half dozen times now that Mobile Manager has difficulty decoding VIN's from Hyundai. What occurs is a digit is dropped from the beginning and another digit is added to the end. The net result is the inability to decode and I'm relegated to go to the laptop and correct it.

Here is a screenshot of how the vin was decoded by Mobile Manager....

This has happened enough times that it's more than just random.

I noticed you have a unit # in where the tag number should be. Why not use the tag to decode? As a work around.

I'll get this in front of the programmers to check out.

Just the same, do you enter the unit number before or after you decode?

I am assuming that you are using the VIN to decode since there is no tag.

Are these 2018 models?

Before. The unit numbers are provided to us by our customer in advance.

Yes, that is correct.

Are these 2018 models?

No. Most are between 2003 and 2012. I believe the example is a 2010.

Just to be clear, I've only experienced this with Hyundai. No other manufacturer has exhibited this behavior yet,

OK Ric,
Thanks. Just trying to ask questions prior to submitting the issue. As usual, you are on the ball. Thanks.
