Message Manager Polling Frequency

What is Message Manager's polling frequency? Sometimes I receive a text in less than a minute and other times it 6-10 minutes behind. Or are there other factor behind the scenes?

Polling frequency? What are you referring to Ric? Is there a function in Message Manager I am not aware of?

Hi Ric,

One of Bolt-On's developers explained this to me the other day - apparently the system will idle for (I think) 20 minutes or so between polling for messages - unless you send a new outbound message, then it picks up the frequency for a while before it scales back. It's their effort to reduce server load. I understand this - but I wish I could count on instantaneous delivery of inbound messages at all times - mobile phone sms has us expecting that this is the norm.

That would make sense based on my observations. I'd suggest a user selectable frequency. Each network is different. Our server isn't used for much else.

Paul, polling frequency is how often MM goes out and checks for messages. I'm getting significant delays

I will look into whether a toggle to look for incoming text messages more frequently and add it to the development team's list for consideration.

Thanks. John. If shops are using it to gain approval, a wait time of 40 minutes could be possible. This is way too long for busy shop.
