Snap On Verus & Manager 6.3 SE

Postby VCAC239 on Wed Sep 16, 2009 12:56 pm

I would like to be able to use my Verus as a second shop computer & be able to have it as a "workstation". How would I go about getting my 6.3 to work in the Verus. I don't have Mitchell Manager 5.9 in the tool. I was sharing my DVD rom out to the Verus to download the workstation program, but I'm having a problem getting the .net framework 3.5 onto the Verus. Is it a critical program to have in order to run the SE program??? Thanks in advance

I remember something about the inability to use shared drives for installation on SE, albeit a dim memory. The Verus has a USB, yes? Maybe an external drive will work.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your question.

I posted an update here on Jan 12th: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=6101&p=44503#p44503

"The design itself was finalized in Dec 2009 and going through final approval steps now. I'm told the development will take 3-4 months once green lighted in the next few weeks."

Thanks for the reply, and sorry I didn't research the subject more before the post. I'm really looking forward to utilizing this software in my shop, if there is a beta test program I'd love to be using it please. Thanks again. :D

What exactly does this viewer allow you to do or see on the Verus?

I would like to apologize to this team for displaying this link before they were ready. And I ask that everyone be patient with snap on/ Mitchell if you downloaded it and need assistance as they gave it to me before the team was properly trained to support it for which I am very thankful. :D

It allows you to access wip's from the manager se program. This way you can update the status of a repair order, get info about a vehicle the service writer entered to input into the scanner id, add tech notes, and enter the out odometer from Verus/Verdict to increase productivity. So the info entered in the verus/verdict will wirelessly transmit over the office network to the repair order so the service wrighter doesn't need to input the info. To get it operational you need to no the network name of your manager se server and input that in the field. It will then get the wip's and you can tailor the view to your needs. I only show ro's and invoices mainly what the techs need to see for the jobs they are currently working on. I hope to use this to reduce the amount of paper for tech work sheets and get better communication from the shop to the service desk.

One added note. Though its useful, because it doesnt make the tech's job much easier I will find it hard to get them to use it. If it automatically entered the vehicle id to the scanner I know they would use it!

Is anyone else out there using SE on their Verus? Was it easy to link/ map or should I wait until I have some time to spend with tech support?

I ended up doing the link myself. So easy, even Adam can do it!
