NEWS: Management System Update discs will now be shipped twice a year.

As usual, that disc automatically updates the 5.9 software to include the latest enhancements and current Year Make Model listings.

As a member of the Mitchell/ShopKey family you will now be able to update your software via the web in between the two annual disc updates. Announcement will be posted here when updates are ready for you to download and install.

Q1 2012 = WCS disc (update program + vehicles YMM + reset subscription timeout clock)
Q2 2012 = Download (update program + vehicles YMM only)
Q3 2012 = WCS disc (update program + vehicles YMM + reset subscription timeout clock)
Q4 2012 = Download (update program + vehicles YMM only)

Important Notes:
* Update discs sent twice yearly reset the software time-out, update the Year/Make/Model listing and includes program and report updates.
* Interim updates of Year/Make/Model listings, Application and Reports will also available via download from http://m1files.com.
* Software Time-out has been extended to 6 months.
* Update news will also be announced in the ‘Gazette’ newsletter.

Production release of Q1-2012 Manager 5.9.x update is now available - see line 31 at: http://m1files.com.

Improvements include faster and more accurate Year/Make/Model resolution in the FirstCall catalog, a fix to 'Do Not Require Line Code' feature within the ACDelco/Nextpart catalog and integrration of Carquest's Weblink catalog. This update may be run at individual workstations without shutting down other users. You must close the software at the workstation you are updating.

Techical requirements include a minimum of Windows XP service pack 3 and .Net 3.5 (available at http://m1faqs.com/fix on line 37)

NOTE 1: You must still run the update disc when received to extend your software time-out.

NOTE 2: If you have applied the 5.9 software update from M1files, you only need run the update disc from one workstation. The update disc is now distributed in DVD format to handle an increase in size of the vehicle database.

Production release of Q1 2012 Year/Make/Model database ONLY is now available - see line 31b at http://m1files.com.

If you downloaded Line 31 that already includes Year-Model-Update; only download 31b if it has a NEWER DATE than Line 31.

That link downloads ymm-q1-2012.exe, which will automatically install the updated database.

NOTE: This update should be run at each workstation in a multi-user environment.

We have posted on http://m1files.com ( m1faqs.com/fix ) at line 31 an updated version of 5.9 software. This update applies to all ShopKey and Mitchell 5.9.5 versions. The lastest version includes fixes/enhancements to the CARQUEST catalog which include a setting to turn off the display of part cost. Manager SE users may also find a CARQUEST catalog update at http://m1faqs.com/fix/SE/catalogs/ on line 6.

Morning everyone:

The Production release of Q2 2012 (June) Year/Make/Model database is now available - see line 31b at http://m1files.com.

The shell I use to deploy the YMM file is the same as updates you have seen run in the past. The program routine copies the latest version of car32.mdb (the year/make/model file) to the host or server. Unlike the typical update which must be run at each worksation, this update includes only 'shared files' and therefore only need be run at one workstation.

I have posted on http://m1files.com ( m1faqs.com/fix ) on line 31 an updated version of 5.9 software, this update will install version 5.9.5.151, the update MUST be run at each workstation. This update applies ShopKey and Mitchell 5.9.5 versions. The latest version includes fixes/enhancements to the CARQUEST catalog, and an updated Year/Make/Model database]. This version also fixes:

System inappropriately forces user to Save information for vehicle when opening an existing order and viewing the vehicle screen.
PO number not sent with Carquest order.
Opening a catalog requires a vehicle if not present.
Software insists on saving a year in the vehicle screen before you can advance to the order screen.
Accounts Receivable Aging Summary Shows customer with -0- balances.
