Accessing/unposting a old invoice from history

Is there a way to un post a invoice from history with out changing shop supplies values. I know when you un post a invoice it askes about updating taxes and hourly rates to your possible new rates, I have always chosen NO and when the invoice shows up the dollar value in the end has changed and it seems to be the value of shop supplies changes. So instead of being a $0.00 invoice it now shows the customer now has a balance when the invoice was paid. Do you know how to stop this from happening, I am sure I am doing something wrong. I have a customer that is trying to put together all his old invoices for a insurance claim, but I have now managed to change the end result somehow.

If all you want to do is to print an old invoice, that can be done on any invoice even if it is posted already. Here in our shop, I am constantly reviewing history invoices and I print them out for the customer to review. Simply look for the "Print" button at the lower right of the invoice screen.

Yea, if you unpost an old invoice, there is a problem. Trust me. I been there done that. I know your frustration.

Like you said printing is not the problem, I need someone to help me out with the changes that happen, that change the balance that now I end up with.

You can print Invoices directly from History and avoid this entirely.

1. Utilities > Customer screen or Vehicle screen access (3 tab view)
2. Select customer or vehicle
3. Go to the History tab
4. Use the Print option in list view OR use Print in the Invoice detail window if you need to see contents.

Thanks Tim appreciate the reply, one last question, is there some way I can fix what I managed to ruin. Now that I originally un posted the invoice it has changed. Is there a way to fix the balance owing amount back to 0 dollars

You could use the Update Customer function on the Customer screen. Enter an equal negative value in On Account Adjustment as shown:

If you have a number of History invoices that need to be printed, there are a couple selection tricks to print as a batch operation and determine PDFs for email or hard copies:
